In mid-2015 we launched an internal Internet of Things (IoT) trial to explore the application of the technology to our business. The system quickly proved itself to be reliable and useful, and we made our expertise available to external customers.
The IoT solution provided for Vickers Aircraft encompasses control and data collection for their carbon fibre composite curing oven, as well as other critical information from sensors installed throughout their factory. We provide secure transport via an encrypted internet connection and the service is hosted on a cloud computing platform. Applications written by Loop Technologies provide visibility and 24/7 monitoring, which has given peace of mind for CEO Paul Vickers.
